FAIRFIELD, Calif., Feb. 23, 2009- City of Fairfield representatives are calling out to locals for their amateur photography skills.  The City would like Fairfield residents to send in their photographs of local businesses to not only showcase their talents, but help promote spending locally.  This request stems from the City’s Buy in Fairfield campaign introduced in December of 2008.

Buy in Fairfield aims to promote local spending whether purchasing toys, electronics, automobiles or even groceries.  When consumers purchase goods and services locally, the sales tax from their purchases remains in the City and directly supports improvements of the area.

The photos will be featured on the BuyInFairfield.com website and the Fairfield4Business.com website.  The photos can be of streetscapes of Fairfield’s business districts, people dining at Fairfield restaurants, Fairfield storefronts, and any other positive images of Fairfield’s business community.

“We would like Fairfield residents to send us their photographs of local businesses for the Buy in Fairfield Web site. Residents can showcase their photographs at the same time they are promoting shopping and dining locally and featuring a local business.  When you shop locally, your money comes full circle back to you.  You invest in local businesses which creates local jobs and the sales tax dollars generated will maintain your streets and parks and provide vital City services like police and fire..” said Cynthia Garcia, City Management Analyst.

Rules

• Photographers must download and complete a photographer submission release.
• If the photos include people, a model photograph release must be submitted for each individual pictured in the submitted photos.
• Submitted photos must be 5MB or smaller.
• Photos will not be returned and all photos submitted will be selected to appear on the Website.

How to Participate

Email the following items to CGARCIA@ci.fairfield.ca.us with the subject "Website Photos"

1. Your photos in jpeg format, not to exceed 5MB per file.
2. A completed a photographer submission release. (download here)
3. If applicable, a completed model photograph release for each individual pictured in your submitted photos. (download here)
