Give a Gift to Fairfield this Holiday Season
FAIRFIELD, Calif., Dec. 3, 2008 - Tackling your holiday wish list in town supports local businesses while also improving the quality of life in Fairfield. Whether buying electronics, toys, books or games; all goods purchased in Fairfield generate a portion of sales tax that is contributed to city services like youth sports and the Matt Garcia Youth Center, senior services, street maintenance, parks, police and fire.
The City recently launched a community awareness campaign to coincide with National Buy Local Week, "Be Local, Buy Local, Benefit Fairfield." The new program aims to educate the community about the benefits of making purchases locally year round and urges residents to regenerate the local economy by shopping in Fairfield first for all goods and services from groceries to new cars to family night out.
"Start spending locally this holiday season and continue the habit everyday for a strong business community and a healthy Fairfield," said Cynthia Garcia, Management Analyst, City of Fairfield. "It's important to support growth and improvement in our hometown economy during this time of nationwide financial struggle. It's easy to do this by making regular purchases in town."
Visit the City's new Web site www.BuyInFairfield.com for more information on the benefits tax dollars bring to Fairfield or to find out how you or your business can participate. Call (707) 428-7461 with any questions.
